Captain Marx Quebral - Master Mariner, MIIMS, AFNI
Member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying

Certificate in Vessel Valuation
A Master Mariner with 15 years sea-going experience and command of crude oil, products and chemical tanker vessels, reefer container and general cargo ships. Marx works as Principal Surveyor and Senior Marine Consultant in the Philippines doing marine survey works and auditing for Hull & Machinery Underwriters, P&I Clubs, Brokers, Claims Adjusters, Ship Management Companies, and prospective ship buyers. He has attended numerous major salvage operations on behalf Underwriters and monitored ship damage repairs in various shipyards around the country.
Captain Paul James Llamas - Master Mariner
A versatile and hardworking Master Mariner with 24 years sea-going experience onboard Oil / Chemical Tankers, Fully Pressurized / Fully Refrigerated LPG Tankers, Crude Oil Tankers and FPSO Vessel. Paul worked as Marine Superintendent for 3 years involving tanker vessel operation and routine and unscheduled operations of ships such as Load-line Changes, Flag Registry Changes, Change of Owners, Classification Surveys, Clearance of PSC Deficiencies, Delivery of new vessels, Investigation of vessels involving in Allision, Grounding, Cargo Contamination, Short Cargo and other cargo related incidents.
Engineer Manny Agdamag - Chief Marine Engineer
Chief Engineer Manuel “Manny” Agdamag is a veteran Marine Engineer with over 40 years of maritime experience, including 23 years as Chief Engineer on oil, product, and chemical tankers as well as container vessels. A Class 1 Chief Engineer and DNV-certified ISM/ISO Internal Auditor, he has extensive expertise in machinery management, dry-docking supervision, and technical operations. Since joining Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys as Senior Engineer Consultant, he has conducted numerous machinery damage investigations, condition and pre-purchase surveys, and ISM/ISPS/MLC audits on behalf of H&M underwriters, P&I clubs, and shipowners, bringing exceptional technical depth, analytical skill, and hands-on experience to every engagement.
Captain Nicasio Alcantara - Master Mariner
Capt. Nicasio “Jhoy” Alcantara Jr. is a Master Mariner with over 28 years of seagoing experience, including 18 years as Master on crude oil and chemical tankers trading worldwide. He has served under leading international operators such as Thenamaris and Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), with extensive exposure to SIRE inspections, special surveys, and vessel dry-docking supervision. Now serving as Marine Consultant with Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys, Capt. Alcantara undertakes casualty investigations, H&M and P&I condition surveys, charterer inspections, and pre-purchase evaluations. His operational discipline, command experience, and strong background in tanker management and safety systems make him a vital contributor to the firm’s technical and insurance consultancy services.
Engineer Ireneo Generalao - Chief Marine Engineer
Chief Engineer Ireneo C. Generalao III is a Marine Engineer with over 30 years of professional experience, including 15 years as Chief Engineer on oil, product, and chemical tankers trading worldwide. A Class 1 Chief Engineer Officer and former FRAMO Cargo Pumping System Instructor at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), he brings deep expertise in engine operations, machinery management, and tanker systems. Based in Davao, he serves as Marine Engineer Consultant for Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys, handling machinery damage investigations, condition and pre-purchase surveys, and risk assessments for H&M underwriters, P&I clubs, and shipowners, delivering every report with precision, reliability, and technical excellence.
Engineer Noel Emplica - Chief Marine Engineer
Chief Engineer Noel A. Emplica is a veteran Marine Engineer with over 25 years of international seagoing experience aboard petroleum tankers, bulk carriers, container ships, and general cargo vessels under globally respected principals including Star Ocean, Maryville Maritime Inc., Mobil Shipping Co. Ltd., and Veritas Maritime Inc. He brings to Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys extensive expertise in vessel machinery systems, maintenance management, and operational safety, strengthened by his leadership in dry-docking, shipboard operations, and compliance with ISM, SOLAS, and MARPOL standards. Engr. Emplica’s technical proficiency in main and auxiliary engines, propulsion and power systems, and pollution prevention equipment makes him a valuable asset in machinery inspections, casualty investigations, and condition surveys, ensuring every assignment is delivered with precision, reliability, and engineering integrity.
Engineer Cesar Rubio - Chief Marine Engineer
Chief Engineer Cesar P. Rubio is a Marine Engineer and Consultant Surveyor with over 30 years of professional experience in the marine and tanker industry, including 20 years of seagoing service on crude oil, product, and chemical tankers. A Class 1 Chief Engineer, he has served under Chevron Shipping, Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), and Sanko Steamship Company, and later as Technical and Environmental Marine Consultant overseeing dry-dockings, incident investigations, and compliance audits for international fleets. Since joining Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys, Engr. Rubio has performed numerous H&M and P&I casualty investigations, condition and risk assessments, and pre-purchase inspections, combining his technical proficiency and audit expertise to ensure comprehensive, accurate, and professional reporting for underwriters, owners, and brokers.
Captain Ian Red - Master Mariner
Capt. Ian Red is a Master Mariner and Senior Marine Consultant with over 25 years of extensive experience in tanker and offshore operations, including leadership roles as Facility Manager and Offshore Installation Manager on FPSO and FSO units across New Zealand and Vietnam. He has managed operations for facilities such as FPSO Raroa, FSO Rong Doi MV12, and FSO Rang Dong MV17, all achieving zero Lost Time Injuries and full operational uptime under his supervision. At Solitude Marine & Offshore Surveys, Capt. Red applies his deep expertise in marine operations, safety management, and risk assessment to casualty investigations, H&M and P&I condition surveys, and offshore consultancy projects, ensuring each engagement meets the highest standards of technical accuracy, safety, and professional integrity.
Captain Anthony Navarro - Master Mariner
​Anthony is a highly skilled and experienced Master Mariner with over 20 years of sea-going experience on a range of vessels, including large to medium-sized containerships, reefer ships, and multipurpose general cargo vessels. Currently based in Manila, Philippines, he functions as a marine consultant, specializing in marine casualty investigation, condition and warranty surveys and consultations. His expertise serves a diverse clientele, including charterers, ship owners, hull and machinery underwriters, P&I clubs, brokers, claims adjusters, and prospective ship buyers.
